COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — January is International Creativity Month and Dublin-based writer and entrepreneur Erin Boggs joins us to inspire viewers with practical ways to spark creativity in their daily lives. As the co-creator of A Journey of Iceland – From Darkness to Light, an immersive book and international exhibition, Erin shares how her transformative journey to Iceland fueled her artistic vision and led to an extraordinary collaboration with Icelandic visual artist Einar Örn and musician Kaktus Einarsson. Hi Erin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been writing since I was a teenager, but it was primarily a creative exercise for myself, it was my therapy. I had never really felt a strong desire to publish or exhibit my work…
Many of my friends in the German Village area and elsewhere have recently gone to Iceland or plan on going. I heard about an upcoming exhibit A Journey of Iceland – From Darkness to Light at the Dublin Arts Council and decided to share it with our community.

Lifelong writer Erin Boggs says she never thought to publish her poetry until she first visited Iceland in 2022. With a passion for travel and appreciation for nature, Boggs says it was in this folkloric, beautiful and culture-rich country where she found incredible inspiration for her first exhibition: A Journey of Iceland – From Darkness to Light.

Titled A Journey of Iceland: From Darkness to Light, the exhibition is a collaboration between Ohio-based writer and poet Erin Boggs, Icelandic artist Einar Örn Benediktsson, and musician Kaktus Einarsson. Through a fusion of visual art, poetry, and music, the exhibit explores Iceland’s striking landscapes, unpredictable weather, and vibrant culture.
